Good day, backer friends! We're two weeks away from Romancelvania's campaign closing, and every moment counts, so we're not wasting any time in telling you...
WE ARE COMING TO XBOX SERIES X/S AND STEAM!
We have been in talks with various partners and we are confident in announcing our commitment to Microsoft's new platform(s). Perfect timing really, because did you see some of those glowing reviews for the hardware? Next-gen is looking hawt. Additionally, we are pulling the trigger on Steam as well and should have the storefront up any moment now. We are SO excited to open this game to new communities, and we hope you shout your excitement for Romancelvania from the rooftops! We need news of this game to travel far and wide so we can CELEBRATE in two weeks, right?
Also, let's be frank. I mean, let's talk about Frank! Frank(enstein) that is.
You may have caught one of our bosses, Frank in our trailer. What you haven't known is that, yes, Frank is in fact dateable. Although he's probably an ideal candidate for the "Frenemy Deck" in Drac's Castle. Why? Well, despite the fact that he's a loveable hipster with a penchant for curating a truly artisanal afterlife, he is a bit of a disaster before he's had his morning cup o' joe. Just another way the cast is going to bring drama to Grim's little reality show. Let's be honest, Frank was into you BEFORE it was cool.
Anyway, we love Frank and hope he and Drac can find that spark! Go pop a craft beer for Frank and let's toast to making this thing happen!
PS- We're going to be streaming from the Deep End Games twitch account tonight at 8 pm EST, and will stream a whole lot more. What kind of games do you want to see us play?

We are so excited to work with Sarah!
Sarah Longfield is an American YouTuber, musician, and multi-instrumentalist based in Madison, Wisconsin. She is known for her unique two-handed tapping playstyle and use of an eight-string guitar.
Longfield was named on a list of “15 of the World's Greatest Seven- and Eight-String Guitarists" by Guitar World in 2018. In 2019, Strandberg Guitars released her signature guitar. The guitar features a design created by Sarah herself.
What's this got to do with Romancelvania? WELL...
Metroidvanias are known for their eclectic music styles, so in addition to having the LEGENDARY Jim Bonney compose our game...SARAH is going to compose some songs for us, too!

Female Drac!
Fangtastic!
Our fantastic concept artist Melody Cheng really pushed along with you all for a playable femDrac, and we asked Mel to bring her to life for you. We were surprised and elated at how many people were into the idea of playing as a female Drac - we had no idea this would be so popular! So we shifted a bunch around and we're going move Female Drac as a playable option out of our stretch goal and into the current funding.
What do you think? If you're in our backer Discord, you had a sneak peak. We hope you love her as much as we do! SO, who's dressing as her tonight? ;)

Update 5: Meet the voice behind Drac!

Hey everyone! How's your pre-Halloween week going? We've got costumes all over the house and we're tripping over pumpkins, but HEY, it's the most wonderful time of the year, right?
Today we have something SUPER FUN for you... we are finally announcing who voices Drac.
Now, we had a unique problem when deciding who to voice Drac - could we get the sexiest voice ever? Who had the sexiest voice? We bantered around ideas for a while and then it hit me (Amanda)...I'd ask my fellow romance writer friends.
An answer came LOUD AND CLEAR...it wasn't a traditional Hollywood actor or VO talent...it was a romance audiobook narrator. And his name was Zachary Webber.
Zach/Drac
I took one listen and WHOA! Ok, that's officially the sexiest voice I'd ever heard. My famous friend (who will remain nameless) got me in touch with him, and the rest was HISTORY!
As soon as he read for Drac, we knew we had our lead. Zachary's voice is smooth with a rough edge, perfect for our unique version of Dracula. We love his voice, and we know you will, too. He's narrated OVER 500 audiobooks! Some of which are the 50 Shades of Grey series! Yowza!

Hey all! Happy Friday to you - hope you have something fun planned for this weekend!
On our end, we're cooking something exciting up for you...an extended gameplay video! Drac's on the hunt for something that will entice the forest diva, Eden, but he finds some trouble along the way. We can't wait for you to check it out! Should be rolling out sometime mid next week.
Secondly, we wanted to highlight a character near and dear to our hearts - Grim. When we first started to think of Grim, we wanted him to be mercurial. When he's on, it's SHOWTIME, and when he's down, he'll bring Hell to your doorstep. We find him to be a compelling friend AND enemy in Drac's life - a complicated relationship indeed.
Cut, cut! Needs more DRAMA!
Grim is also the show's producer. And director. And, well, this is his circus and everyone are his monkeys. Grim makes his presence known throughout the game, making Drac's life harder and the contestants lives more dramatic.
Grim is lovingly brought to life by Nick Grava, of Perception fame. In Perception, Nick played "Friendly Eyes", someone who helped Cassie on her journey, but he met a tragic end. People fell in love with this little side story in Perception, and when we pictured Grim, we realized we'd need a fun and dynamic voice to play this complicated character. Thank you, Nick!

And while we're talking about the show, let's talk about SHOWMANCE. One basic tenet of most reality shows is...getting voted OFF. What makes Romancelvania so replayable is that you can romance (or befriend) whatever characters you want! Amanda goes into more detail about the relationships and what influences her in this great interview with IndieGamesPlus.
But back to voting people off! Playing with "who stays, who goes" is super fun for us, so we want to know...
Based on the characters you've seen...who would you keep, and who would you VOTE OFF? We are dying to know!
